Job description

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced carryall driver to drive a new 4-axle Peterbilt and pull our superload trailer. We haul large-scale construction equipment usually within the State of Ohio, with occasional out of state loads. There is a $5000 signing bonus for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with appropriate endorsements.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy-duty trucks, preferably with superload or oversized load hauling.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations related to oversized and overweight loads.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination and maintain compliance with Department of Transportation safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety inspection procedures.
  • Able to pass DOT drug test and criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience coordinating with escort vehicles and law enforcement for superload transport.
  • Familiarity with load securement techniques specific to superloads.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in dynamic transportation environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy-duty trucks and trailers to transport superloads safely across designated routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure all equipment is in optimal condition for transporting oversized loads.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers, escort vehicle operators, and regulatory agencies to plan routes 
  • Adhere strictly to all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies related to superload hauling.
  • Monitor load security throughout the journey and make adjustments as needed to maintain safety.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and authorities to report progress and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, permits, inspections, and any incidents encountered during transport.
