The Security Systems Integrator Role:

Reporting to the Security/Communications supervisor and collaborating closely with project managers, the Security Systems Integrator plays a crucial role in installing, servicing, and supporting CCTV cameras, card access systems, and various Electronic Security Panels. Our diverse clientele includes K-12 public school districts, colleges, universities, government entities, and small to enterprise-level businesses across Pennsylvania. This position requires meticulous documentation and involves frequent travel within the state, with occasional overnight stays. To support the Security Systems Integrator, Berkshire Systems Group, Inc. provides:

  • Company vehicle (position-based), including AAA membership, fuel card, and all maintenance costs covered
  • Laptop, tablet, cell phone, and all necessary tools and training

Who You Are:

You are a highly motivated team member with a passion for Electronic Security Systems, CCTV cameras, and Card Access Systems, eager to contribute to the growth of the Security/Communications Life Safety Division at BSGI. You are dedicated to delivering World Class service through continuous education and development in the Security industry. Responsibilities include:

  • Installing, networking, programming, and maintaining Electronic Security Systems
  • Commissioning and modifying basic communication/security systems
  • Testing system operations and ensuring thorough documentation
  • Familiarity with CATV, Wireless, IP, and Networking standards
  • Reading, interpreting, and updating construction and security drawings
  • Regular communication of daily progress to State Agency Project Managers or Service Supervisors
  • Providing technical support and training to customers as needed
  • Timely completion of service acknowledgements for all calls or projects
  • On-Call rotation and occasional inspections of existing Electronic Security Systems

Where You'll Be Located:

  • Ideally, you reside in Central, Eastern, or Southern Pennsylvania, within reasonable distance to our offices in Reading, York, or State College. Daily commute to these offices is not required Daily travel to customer sites across Pennsylvania, including visits to our York, PA, and State College, PA offices, as well as occasional overnight stays, is part of the role. Applicants must be a least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
Requirements:

What You Bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge with an electronics background.
  • At least 2 years' experience with Security System installations and proficiency in hardware/software/network troubleshooting.
  • Fundamental technology certification such as Access 101, Video Surveillance 101, Networking Fundamentals, etc.
  • At least 2 manufacturer’s certifications from companies like Panasonic, Bosch, Crestron, Telecor, etc.
  • Experience in commissioning, testing system operations, and meticulous completion of documentation.
  • Intermediate level network and cloud-based system knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret and apply manufacturer documentation, engineered site drawings, copes of work, and matrices of operations.
  • Proficiency in working at heights using lifts & ladders.
  • Solid customer service and communication skills.
  • Impeccable organizational and prioritizing skills within a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities.
  • Industry certifications such as IPVM, ASIS, ESA, NICET, CompTIA, AVIXA, etc. are advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs, and access elevated areas to inspect system components installed at various heights.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently.
  • Hand dexterity to manipulate and handle materials.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds daily; heavier lifting with mechanical assistance or team support.
  • Mobility: Comfort and safety in navigating tight spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and other installation areas.
  • Vision: Visual acuity in at least one eye of 20/40 or better without corrective lenses, or over 20/70 combined vision with corrective lenses; ability to distinguish colors.
