Job description

Who We’re Looking For.

We are looking for individuals to join our contractor network!  This contractor role will help us to expand our commercial environmental due diligence investigation. 

Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), plays a key role in conducting environmental due diligence assessments for commercial real estate transactions. This role involves performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), reviewing historical records, conducting site inspections, and preparing comprehensive reports. The contractor will work closely with senior environmental consultants and project managers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of assessments to provide clients with valuable insights to support their decision-making process. 

The ideal contractor will have 5+ years Phase I ESA experience, conducting field work and writing reports to the ASTM E1527-21 Standard, as well as Multi-Family, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac Scope of Work.

Qualifications

  • Environmental Professional (EP) as defined by All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI)
  • 5+ years’ experience conducting Phase I ESAs or related environmental assessments in the commercial real estate industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in geology, environmental science, engineering, or similar discipline (preferred).
  • Ability to conduct thorough research using various sources, including historical records, environmental databases, and local regulations.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, contamination types, and the potential impacts on human health and the environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills to clearly communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection.
  • Familiarity with Quire writing platform and templates preferred

How you’ll make an impact.

Conduct high quality Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs): 

  • Perform detailed site visits to observe current conditions, noting any signs of contamination, such as staining, odors, or waste disposal.
  • Review historical records, including aerial photographs, property records, and regulatory databases, to identify potential environmental risks and liabilities. 

Data Collection and Analysis: 

  • Gather and analyze data related to environmental factors, including land use history and regulatory compliance. 
  • Evaluate potential environmental risks and liabilities associated with the property. 

Report Preparation: 

  • Prepare clear and concise Phase I ESA reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. 
  • Ensure reports are accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with regulatory standards and client requirements. 
  • Use the Quire writing platform and templates to prepare detailed, accurate reports with clear descriptions, photographic evidence, and action recommendations.
