Job description

We are seeking a dependable Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support warehouse and inventory operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for receiving incoming materials, processing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring products move efficiently throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse or shipping and receiving experience, strong computer skills, and experience working with inventory transactions in an ERP system. Candidates with forklift experience are encouraged to apply, particularly those with stand-up forklift experience.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving

  • Receive incoming materials and products and accurately record transactions within the ERP system
  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, or non-conforming materials
  • Verify packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation
  • Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Process inventory receipts and material transactions in the ERP system
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed and maintained

Shipping

  • Pick, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment
  • Review shipping paperwork to ensure order accuracy
  • Coordinate outbound shipments using third-party shipping software and freight carriers
  • Complete shipping transactions and maintain accurate shipment records
  • Prepare products for outside processing and vendor shipments as needed

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counting and transaction processing
  • Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices
  • Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation activities
  • Accurately enter inventory movements and adjustments into the ERP system

Communication & Support

  • Work closely with production, purchasing, planning, and customer service teams
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies, shortages, or shipping issues promptly
  • Assist with warehouse organization and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform additional warehouse and materials-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Experience manually entering inventory transactions into an ERP system
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Forklift certification
  • Experience operating a stand-up forklift
  • Manufacturing or inventory control experience
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory management
  • Familiarity with shipping software and freight documentation
  • Experience with M1 ERP or similar ERP systems
