Lead the Future of Sustainable Infrastructure Investing

Step into a strategic, highimpact role as a Consultant, Transactions within ERM's M&A Infrastructure Service Line-location flexible in US or Canada. Here, your technical expertise will shape some of the world's most influential infrastructure investments. Infrastructure is at the center of the energy transition, decarbonization, and economic resilience. ERM's M&A team-50+ specialists in technical, ESG, and EHS due diligence-is expanding to meet growing client demand. As a Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our infrastructure offering and delivering highquality technical due diligence to infrastructure funds, private equity firms, investment banks, and energy companies. Your work directly informs buyside, sellside, and project finance decisions across global markets.

What Your Impact Is

In this role, you will:

  • Shape investment strategies by evaluating technical, operational, and businessplan performance of infrastructure assets.

  • Lead the delivery of proposals and develop scopes, schedules, company profiles, and commercial terms.

  • Coordinate key project milestones-Q&A submissions, management sessions, meetings, and final report delivery.

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary technical communities and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to bring the strongest insights to clients.

  • Strengthen the Infrastructure Service Line by contributing to internal development, tools, and best practices.

Your expertise will directly influence capital allocation, asset performance, and sustainability outcomes across the infrastructure sector.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Solid academic background with an engineering bias (e.g., Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering). Or equivalent experience.

  • 2-3 years of technical consulting, engineering, or operational experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong technical capability to identify risks and opportunities within technical documentation, site visits, and discussions-covering asset integrity, operational performance, management systems, and business plans.

  • Excellent organizational skills, selfmotivation, and ability to thrive in fastturnaround environments.

  • Commitment to quality and high standards for yourself and the team.

  • Advanced report writing and presentation skills, with previous clientfacing experience.

Preferred

  • Experience managing external client projects.

  • Ability to lead or coordinate complex project delivery involving multiple workstreams.

  • Prior exposure to technical due diligence (preferred, not required).

  • Corporate finance qualification.

  • Interest in domestic and international travel for site visits.

  • Knowledge of Capex and Opex cost expectations for engineering assets/projects.

  • Familiarity with decarbonization strategies and technologies.

  • Experience reviewing EPC contracts, Financial Models, engineering designs/specifications, and budgets for industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of proposals, including company profile development, scopes of work, schedules, and commercial terms.

  • Assist or lead projects that evaluate technical, operational, and businessplan components of infrastructure investments.

  • Coordinate project deliverables such as Q&A submissions, management sessions, client meetings, and report delivery.

  • Work effectively across ERM technical communities and subcontracted SMEs to support successful project execution and client engagement.

  • Execute internal development tasks to enhance the Infrastructure Service Line's tools, processes, and overall functionality.

For the Consultant, Transactions position, the anticipated annual base pay is $84,980-$102,154 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
