What is an equus?

Equus jobs typically refer to positions within Equus Workforce Solutions, a company that provides workforce development services, including job placement, career counseling, and training programs. Employees may work in roles such as career advisors, case managers, business service representatives, or administrative staff. These jobs involve helping individuals find employment, connect with training opportunities, and support local workforce initiatives. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an equine veterinarian, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Equine Veterinarian, you need a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, state licensure, and specialized knowledge in equine anatomy, diseases, and treatments. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging tools, laboratory equipment, and equine management software is typically required. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and compassion are essential soft skills for building trust with clients and handling animals safely. These skills are vital for delivering effective medical care, ensuring animal welfare, and maintaining successful client relationships in equine practice.

What are some common challenges faced by equus rehabilitation specialists when working with horses, and how can they overcome them?

Equus rehabilitation specialists often encounter challenges such as managing horses with behavioral issues, addressing a wide range of injuries or chronic conditions, and ensuring consistent progress in recovery plans. To overcome these hurdles, specialists must develop strong observation and communication skills, collaborate closely with veterinarians and trainers, and tailor rehabilitation programs to each horse’s unique needs. Building trust with the animal and maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions are also key practices for achieving successful outcomes.

Job description

HR Coordinator

Chicago, IL | Financial Services

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established financial services firm to identify an HR Coordinator to join its growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career HR or Talent Acquisition professional who wants to gain meaningful exposure across recruiting and broader HR responsibilities. While the organization has a long track record of success, the internal environment is entrepreneurial and fast-moving, with a growing HR function that is actively building and evolving.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, responsive, proactive, and comfortable rolling up their sleeves. This is not a highly structured, narrowly defined role. The person in this position will have the opportunity to take ownership, work across a variety of initiatives, and gain considerably more exposure and responsibility than they might in a larger organization.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Talent Acquisition team across multiple concurrent searches, from early-career and analyst hiring through more senior-level recruiting
  • Coordinate a high volume of interviews across multiple hiring teams, ensuring a seamless experience for candidates and interviewers
  • Manage candidate communication and keep interview processes organized and moving forward
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information within the firm's ATS and recruiting systems
  • Support onboarding coordination, including background checks and pre-employment requirements
  • Monitor and triage the HR inbox, ensuring questions and requests are addressed promptly
  • Provide general HR coordination and administrative support across the broader team
  • Jump in on projects and priorities outside of day-to-day responsibilities as needed
  • Help develop structure and improve processes as the HR function continues to evolve

What They Are Looking For:

  • Approximately 1–2 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, recruiting coordination, or a related area
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly responsive with strong follow-through and a sense of urgency
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and coordinating across different stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and pitch in wherever needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where responsibilities may shift
  • Interest in building a career in Talent Acquisition and/or Human Resources
  • Experience with an ATS or recruiting technology is a plus

The Equus Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and takes pride in maintaining a diverse environment. We do not discriminate in recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, or any other employment practices for reasons of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
