Job description

Citi's Equity Research team is looking for a Senior Associate to support the lead analyst covering the Biotech Services sector, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, independent investment insights to institutional clients globally. In this role, you will play a meaningful part in shaping research publications, financial models, and client engagement for one of the most dynamic sectors in today's market. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of deep sector analysis, AI-driven research methods, and direct client impact within a globally connected team.

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and update detailed financial models for the Biotech Services sector companies, including relative value analysis, earnings forecasts, and scenario modelling to support investment recommendations.
  • Draft and co-author equity research publications including earnings previews and recaps, initiation reports, and thematic deep-dive notes for distribution to institutional clients.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external clients, delivering timely and well-informed perspectives on Biotech Services sector developments and covered companies.
  • Coordinate and support investor events including management meetings, company field trips, and industry consultant calls, ensuring seamless execution and strong client experience.
  • Apply AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance research workflows, streamline data analysis, and improve the quality and efficiency of published outputs.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a high-performing research environment through knowledge sharing and day-to-day guidance.
  • Evaluate business and investment decisions with sound judgement, maintaining the integrity of research outputs and adhering to regulatory and ethical standards at all times.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 2 to 10 years of experience in sell-side equity research experience, with a focus on Biotech Services or a closely aligned sector.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain complex financial models with a strong command of accounting principles and valuation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting senior research analysts, including preparation of research materials and client-facing communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling research narratives.
  • Active holding of, or eligibility to obtain within 180 days, SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 licenses.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately under time-sensitive conditions.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • MBA, graduate degree, or CFA designation, demonstrating advanced financial and analytical expertise.
  • Significant recent performance in external analyst surveys across the Biotech Services sector, evidencing market recognition of research quality and client impact.
