Job description

Job Purpose:
BTIG seeks an Analyst/Associate to support the Equity Research team in the Energy and Infrastructure space. This individual will be responsible for assisting Senior Analysts in covering Energy & Infrastructure focused companies. The main concentration of this role will be conducting primary research, including financial analysis, due diligence on industry trends, company management and strategies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated and hard-working individual.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Construct and maintain sophisticated financial models to support company analysis, client recommendations, and investment themes.
  • Monitor and communicate daily new flows, sector developments, and key company events to senior analysts.
  • Design and execute primary research, including surveys of physicians and engagement with Key Opinion Leaders, to gather proprietary insights.
  • Draft and contribute to comprehensive research reports, including original ideas, sector and company updates, breaking news, and initiation coverage.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with company management teams, industry contacts, and internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investors as experience grows.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees (PhD or MD) in relevant fields are highly valued but not mandatory
  • 5+ years of experience in equity research or investment banking preferred
  • Demonstrated passion for biotechnology and life sciences sectors
  • Strong work ethic, creative problem-solving skills, and resourceful approach to research
  • Advanced skill in building and maintaining financial models and forecasts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Ability to excel in high-intensity, fast-paced environments with tight deadlines
  • Series SIE, 63, 86 & 87 licensing preferred, but not required upon hiring

  • BTIG offers a competitive compensation andย benefits package. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.
  • The current estimated base salary range for this role is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus or overtime.ย
