Role Title: Community Engagement & Inclusion Coordinator (CEIC) Facilities: The Raymond John Wean Park Complex (Great Lawn, Community Alley, Covelli Centre and Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre Reports to: Community Engagement and Inclusion Committee & JAC Management Pay: Subcontractor/paid in monthly increments Role Description Summary Under the direction of the Community Engagement & Inclusion Committee, this position will ensure the facilities is an inclusive environment whose events, programming and activities are created and reflective of ongoing engagement with residents and represents the diversity, including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, mental and physical abilities of the neighborhood of the City of Youngstown. The CEIC, in collaboration with the Committee will ensure the Facilities affordability, diversity and equity - fair treatment, access, opportunity and advancement while striving to identify and eliminate barriers that prevent full participation of all in events, programs and activities. The CEIC will ensure flexibility to accommodate events of various scales and types.

This contract position will require non-traditional hours, including evening and weekend hours. Position Overview The Community Engagement & Inclusion Coordinator leads inclusive programming and community-centered initiatives across designated facilities. This role ensures events, programs, and outreach efforts reflect the diversity of Youngstown residents while promoting equitable access, participation, and community voice.

The coordinator works collaboratively with stakeholders, manages events from planning through execution, and advances strategies that remove barriers to participation. While governed by a committee (JAC Management Group, City of Youngstown and The Raymond John Wean Foundation), the coordinator seeks guidance from and reports to JAC Management on an ongoing as-needed basis. The coordinator is responsible for exploring and soliciting funds to offset costs associated with producing CEIC-championed events.

Core Responsibilities 1. Program & Event Management Champion events held in the Wean Park from concept through completion Plan, coordinate, and execute events from concept through completion Serve as on-site manager during events to ensure smooth operations Develop and maintain event calendars and schedules Support marketing, outreach, and promotion of programs, including website and social media pages Ensure flexibility to accommodate events of varying scale and type 2. Community Engagement & Outreach Build relationships with residents, community groups, and stakeholders Engage the public through surveys, meetings, and direct communication Encourage participation and use of facilities Ensure programs reflect community needs and feedback Promote equitable access and inclusive participation 3.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Collaboration Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and institutions Collaborate with City officials, businesses, and local groups Liaise with the Community Engagement & Inclusion Committee and JAC Management Coordinate with municipal and external partners on programming initiatives 4. Communication & Marketing Communicate program updates, events, and outcomes to stakeholders Support social media and traditional marketing efforts Assist with newsletters and public-facing communications, including website updates Provide regular reports on program status and impact 5. Operations & Administration Supervise assigned staff and support team coordination Assist with planning, scheduling, and logistics Ensure facilities remain accessible and welcoming Provide resources and support for facility users Perform additional duties as assigned 6.
