ย Position Scope

The Rental Operations Manager oversees daily rental department operations to ensure efficient equipment availability, high-quality customer service, and strong coordination between rental, service, logistics, and sales teams. This role is responsible for managing rental processes, optimizing fleet utilization, maintaining operational standards, and supporting team performance. The Rental Operations Manager plays a key role in delivering seamless rental experience and supporting Stowers Machinery's commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and internal teams such as parts, sales, service, power, transportation, rental, marketing accounting and finance.

Ability to understand equipment applications and match customer needs with appropriate rental solutions such as compact construction equipment and train inside rental personnel

Proficiency with computer systems and office software including Microsoft Office Suite

Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal departments such as cross-functional communication

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills such as operational troubleshooting and coaching, training and mentoring rental personnel

Ability to effectively manage multiple high priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualification(s)

Experience in equipment rental, construction equipment, outbound call center or related industries

Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred

Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar product lines such as earthmoving/construction equipment knowledge a plus


Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Preferred in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management

Equivalent work experience


Essential Job Functions

Operational Management

Oversee daily rental operations to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction such as rental process oversight

Monitor equipment availability, scheduling, and fleet utilization such as fleet coordination

Ensure rental contracts, documentation, and billing information are accurate and complete such as contract accuracy

Oversee rental yard organization, equipment readiness, and presentation standards such as yard management


Customer and Team Support

Support rental staff in resolving customer issues and providing equipment recommendations such as customer support guidance

Collaborate with service and logistics teams to coordinate equipment delivery, pickup, and maintenance such as interdepartmental coordination

Provide coaching, feedback, and support to rental team members such as staff development


Administrative and Compliance Duties

Maintain accurate records of rental activity, fleet status, and operational metrics such as data tracking

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures such as policy adherence

Assist with inventory planning, fleet forecasting, and equipment rotation decisions such as fleet planning


Leadership Responsibilities

Provide daily leadership and direction to rental staff at all locations

Promote a culture of safety, legendary customer service and accountability within the workplace

Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement operational enhancements to achieve operational excellence


Preferred Experience and Skills

Experience in rental operations, equipment management, logistics or outbound call center supervision

Strong customer service background

Experience using Customer Relationship Management Software


Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods such as office and yard movement

Manual dexterity to operate computers and office equipment such as keyboard use

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds such as light equipment handling

Occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing when inspecting equipment such as equipment access

Clear speaking voice for customer and team communication such as verbal interaction


Work Environment

Combination of office, rental yard, and occasional job site environments such as mixed work settings

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and heavy equipment operations such as field exposure

Must follow all safety guidelines and wear PPE when required such as safety compliance


Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but occasional travel to customer sites, sales locations, equipment yards or other relevant areas may occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, employees must be careful while performing onsite services.
