Job description

SMS is hiring Project Mangers for your new and busy BIM contract. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing Phase 4 Modernization implementation activities ensuring successful installation, testing, cutover, and System Acceptance of modernized Base Area Network infrastructure. Up to 25% travel will be required for travel to oversee base projects as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages Phase 4 Modernization implementation activities ensuring successful installation, testing, cutover, and System Acceptance of modernized Base Area Network infrastructure
  • Coordinates installation teams, schedules, and resources across all modernization activities
  • Ensures execution aligns with PMO-approved System Planning, Requirements, Implementation Plan (SPRIP) and 18-month modernization timeline
  • Manages Preliminary Integration Reviews (PIR) and Critical Integration Reviews (CIR) with Government stakeholders and base organizations
  • Coordinates Integration Plan Acceptance processes ensuring timely Government approvals
  • Manages Network Integration Lab operations and Qualification Testing activities
  • Coordinates installation schedules, Authorized Service Interruptions, and base coordination requirements
  • Manages equipment procurement, delivery, and logistics
  • Oversees OSP fiber optic installations and ISP infrastructure deployments
  • Coordinates with base Civil Engineering for AF Forms 332, 813, and 103 approvals
  • Manages cutover planning and execution minimizing operational impacts
  • Leads System Acceptance Testing coordination and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, information technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of program/project management
    experience in network infrastructure implementation or telecommunications deployment.
  • Department of Defense, Secret clearance or the ability obtain an interim Secret clearance
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Willing to travel throughout the US up to 25%
