Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Associate (API - Therapeutic Proteins)
Location: Walkersville, MD
Pay Range: 3rd Shift - $23-28.82/hr. on W2
Pay Range: 2nd Shift - $23-27.57/hr. on W2

Shift Schedule:

  • 3rd Shift: Sunday – Wednesday, 10:00 PM – 8:30 AM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM
  • Schedule Type: 4 x 10 (Four 10-hour days)

Role Purpose:

The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for the manufacture of therapeutic proteins (API) under cGMP conditions. This entry-level role involves executing process recipes, following SOPs, monitoring equipment and production processes, conducting basic lab tasks (e.g., pH, conductivity, sampling), and performing routine cleaning and sanitization of the facility and equipment. Associates are expected to demonstrate aseptic techniques and build a foundational understanding of cGMP compliance under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 40% – Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment and processes, including Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Steam-In-Place (SIP); document activities per GMP and GDP standards.
  • 20% – Achieve and maintain qualifications for assigned tasks; manage individual training plans.
  • 10% – Perform basic lab tasks, including monitoring pH, conductivity, and testing samples.
  • 10% – Handle material transfers: move raw materials and chemicals within production areas.
  • 10% – Maintain cleanliness of facility/equipment; support 6S (workplace organization) initiatives.
  • 10% – Complete administrative duties: attend shift exchanges and meetings, handle emails, participate in projects, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; AS/BS in a science-related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: 0–3 years; prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
