Assistant/Associate/Full Professor- Equine Practice
Job Summary
The successful candidate requires participation in classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, graduate students, interns, and graduate veterinarians. The candidate must demonstrate creative scholarship and collaborative research activities in equine practice and develop innovative teaching and service programs. Participation in providing client medicine and surgery services to the Large Animal Teaching Hospital, with an emphasis on equine cases, is required.
Essential Job Duties
  • Classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, graduate students, interns, and graduate veterinarians.
  • Creative scholarship and collaborative research in equine practice.
  • Develop innovative teaching and service programs.
  • Provide client services, including medicine and surgery.
  • Provide after-hours/on-call emergency duty.
  • Development of strong professional relationships with referring veterinarians.
  • Participate in state and national outreach and continuing education
  • Participate in college and university committees.

Preferred Qualifications
• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Three to four years of postgraduate clinical experience, including a large animal rotating internship and/or clinical instructor experience in an academic setting, will be given preference.
• Clinical experience and documented competence in medical and surgical management in all large animal species, with an emphasis on equine clinical practice, are required
