Equine Feed Crew Team LeadJob Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Equine Feed Crew Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of our feed crew while ensuring the highest standard of care for our equine patients. This leadership role is responsible for supervising feed crew staff, coordinating daily feeding schedules, maintaining feed quality and inventory, and ensuring all horses receive proper nutrition according to individualized feeding protocols.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive equine experience, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for providing exceptional care in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership amp; Supervision
  • Supervise, train, and mentor feed crew employees.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure all responsibilities are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, guidance, and accountability.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with managers regarding staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.
Feeding Operations
  • Oversee and assist with feeding all horses at the clinic and remote locations according to established feeding schedules.
  • Ensure feed is prepared and distributed accurately based on individual feed charts.
  • Work with management and veterinary staff to update and implement feeding adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor feed inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
