Reading Response Team

Position Description

Position Summary

The Reading Response Team supports the implementation of the district's universal screening process in accordance with the New Jersey FOCUS (Funding for Optimal Comprehensive Universal Screeners) Grant and state requirements. Team members collaborate to ensure successful administration of the universal screener for students in grades K3 during the fall and winter assessment windows and assist in developing a district intervention framework based on screening data.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all required professional development provided through EPS Learning, HMH, and the East Orange School District.
  • Support implementation of the district universal screener during the fall and winter assessment windows.
  • Review and analyze universal screener data to identify trends and student instructional needs.
  • Collaborate with district staff to develop and refine a district-wide intervention plan based on screening results.
  • Assist with reviewing screening procedures and recommending improvements to implementation.
  • Attend Reading Response Team meetings and complete assigned tasks outside of contractual hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student assessment data and comply with all district policies and state regulations.
  • Perform other grant-related duties necessary to support implementation of the FOCUS Grant.

Qualifications

  • New Jersey instructional certificate or administrative certificate (as applicable).
  • Knowledge of literacy assessment and instructional practices.
  • Experience working with assessment data is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with district staff and school administrators.


 


 

Grant Compliance Administrator Reading Response Team

Position Description

Position Summary

The Grant Compliance Administrator serves as the district lead for coordinating and monitoring the assessment and reporting requirements of the FOCUS Grant. This individual ensures accurate implementation of the universal screener, monitors district assessment completion, manages assessment data, and prepares required reports for state submission.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor district-wide completion of the K3 universal screener during all required assessment windows.
  • Generate and distribute assessment completion reports for school and district administrators.
  • Monitor testing progress and communicate assessment status throughout each testing window.
  • Pull, organize, and verify assessment data from the district's universal screening platform.
  • Prepare assessment data files and supporting documentation for required state uploads.
  • Review data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Maintain district records required for FOCUS Grant compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Reading Response Team to analyze screening results and identify district instructional needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of district intervention planning based on screening data.
  • Participate in required professional development provided through EPS Learning, HMH, and the East Orange School District.
  • Attend Reading Response Team meetings and complete grant-related tasks outside of contractual hours.
  • Perform additional duties necessary to ensure compliance with the FOCUS Grant and applicable state requirements.

Qualifications

  • New Jersey supervisor certificate required.
  • Experience with educational assessment systems and data management.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy screening practices and state assessment requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.

Reading Response Team members for work performed outside of their contractual hours, from

September, 2026 - June 2027 at the rate of $39.38 per hour
