Job Summary

The Manufacturing Technician II – Panel Assembly is responsible for performing aerospace panel assembly operations to manufacture composite and metallic flight hardware. This role supports the fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, and rework of aerospace components while following engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications. The Manufacturing Technician II works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure products meet quality, safety, and production requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform aerospace panel assembly operations, including honeycomb core preparation, adhesive mixing, bonding, insert installation, edge closeout installation, hardware installation, potting, drilling, and rework of composite and metallic panel assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Fabricate flight hardware while maintaining dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and power equipment.
  • Prepare and mix epoxy and silicone adhesives for component installation.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment used for processing composite, metallic, and other aerospace materials.
  • Perform setup, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and rework activities as required.
  • Support inspection activities and quality testing throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
  • Collect production data and assist with process improvements and manufacturing optimization.
  • Follow all safety procedures, technical instructions, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in honeycomb panel fabrication or aerospace mechanical assembly.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with drilling, adhesive and epoxy mixing, bonding, and aerospace panel assembly.
  • Experience using hand tools, power machinery, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience processing composite and metallic materials preferred.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA standards preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math and geometry skills.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support process improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet production schedules.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours or adjusted schedules as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
