Job description

The Interface Analyst/Developer is responsible for analysis, technical design and issue triage for the development, implementation and support of interfaces.

Responsibilities
  • Design efficient high quality interface integrations, create efficient and logical program code, and write clear and concise system descriptions that meet project requirements.
  • Investigate interface-related business and system requirements identified for new or modification requests. Determine impact to interfaces, document configuration and build changes needed.
  • Evaluate business requirements and processes to provide possible solutions and accurate estimates for development efforts.
  • Communicate with other team members to ensure that application functionality and workflow requirements and needs are being addressed and met.
  • Serve as the point person for assigned interfaces, which may include coordinating analysis calls, maintaining business requirements documentation, escalating issues encountered, and performing configuration and build changes to interface code.
  • Coordinate or assist in all testing/validation of the interface.
  • Troubleshoot production or testing/validation interface issues or related applications. Run error code frequency reports for interfaces, investigate and analyze the errors, identify causes of failure, and propose/implement solutions.
  • Develop and document interface specifications, and operational documents on each new interface for posterity.
  • Create mapping documents for HL7 fields and sub-fields by collecting Epic system values and values for the other systems to serve as a central reference for mapping among the various systems.
  • Perform configuration/build changes.
Qualifications
  • 2 years of programming experience or 3 years of FMOLHS IS system experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT field substitutes for 2 years of programming experience.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.

Knowledge of HL7 standards and experience with interface engines.
