Responsibilities

The Echocardiographer performs all Echocardiogram and Dopplers which result in successful reading. Assists with all other departmental testing as needed, following departmental protocols. The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all age groups with special emphasis on middle and senior adults. The staff member must evidence the ability to apply these principles when selecting equipment, performing tests, and interacting with clients and their families.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience in cardiology testing.
  • Must have completed echo courses in M-Mode and 2-D and Doppler Echocardiography.


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification Requirements:
    • Must be CPR trained- Healthcare Provider level.
    • ARDMS OR CCI certification required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Must have Epic experience 
    • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must possess typing skills.
    • Must be able to perform EKGs, Treadmill preparation, Echocardiograms, and Dopplers.
    • Pediatric echo screening scans
    • Will be required to travel.
