EPIC Physician Billing Analyst
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an EPIC Physician Billing Analyst to support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic Professional Billing (Resolute PB) module. This role is critical to ensuring accurate physician billing, clean claims submission, and proper reimbursement for professional services.
The EPIC Physician Billing Analyst will collaborate with IT, revenue cycle, and operational stakeholders to align system functionality with business workflows, improve billing efficiency, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Epic Professional Billing Configuration and Maintenance
• Configure and customize the Epic Professional Billing (Resolute PB) module to meet organizational needs
• Maintain system components including charge router, workqueues, collection agency workflows, statement processing, benefit engine, and estimates
• Build, test, validate, and migrate system changes to production
• Perform ongoing system maintenance and support upgrades and new Epic releases
• Review release notes, assess impact of updates, and recommend implementation strategy
Workflow Analysis and Optimization
• Analyze current revenue cycle and financial workflows to identify inefficiencies
• Design and implement best practice workflows to improve billing accuracy and operational performance
• Collaborate with revenue cycle, finance, and IT stakeholders to ensure system alignment with business processes
• Support integration of claim scrubbers, payment processors, and related revenue cycle tools
Support and Troubleshooting
• Serve as primary support contact for Epic Professional Billing end users
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to billing, claims processing, and reimbursement
• Provide guidance on system functionality and workflow best practices
• Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule
Training and Documentation
• Provide training and education to end users on Epic Professional Billing workflows and functionality
• Develop and maintain system documentation and internal procedures
• Support user adoption through clear communication and structured guidance
Compliance and Regulatory Alignment
• Maintain Epic Professional Billing certification
• Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and industry standards
• Support transitions between claim formats (e.g., X12 4010 to 5010) and coding systems (e.g., ICD-9 to ICD-10)
• Monitor regulatory updates impacting professional billing and reimbursement processes
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or related field preferred
• Epic Professional Billing (Resolute PB) certification required
Technical Expertise
• Demonstrated expertise in Epic Professional Billing configuration, including:
- Charge router
- Workqueue configuration

• Experience building, testing, and migrating Epic system changes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint)
