Position Title
Medical Imaging Information System Manager
Job Description
Purpose & Scope:
The Medical Imaging Information System Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, management, and maintenance of medical imaging systems and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) within a healthcare organization. This role ensures the systems function seamlessly, securely, and align with clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives. Working with senior leadership, the manager will also oversee a team of technical and operational staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth. This role will require significant on-site presence with some telework potential.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Radiologic Sciences, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience managing imaging systems in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with PACS, RIS, CIS and EHR systems is required.
  • Clinical Radiology experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience > 5 years in leading and managing a team, preferably in a healthcare or IT setting.
  • Knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and other imaging and healthcare communication standards.
  • Knowledge of Fuji Synapse, Powerscribe, Epic is preferred

Certification/Licensure:
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) or equivalent are preferred.
  • Epic Radiant, Cupid, Bridges certifications are a plus
  • CAHIMS/CPHIMS

Additional Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of imaging systems and their workflows.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.).
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
