Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of specialty experience.

Details
  • Work in a 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Care for patients with cardiovascular conditions, with a focus on Heart Failure management
  • Provide continuous EKG and oxygen saturation monitoring via telemetry
  • Administer IV and oral medications for cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
  • Prepare and coordinate patients for cardiac interventions, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
  • Utilizes Omnicell medication system and Epic EMR
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0700-1930
  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
  • Floating to other units and campuses required per facility need
Requirements
  • Active SC or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Cardiac Telemetry required
  • 3 years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • 1+ years of recent experience with Epic EMR required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care preferred
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
Additional Information
  • Deliver holistic nursing care addressing physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families
  • Coordinate post-hospitalization care and services for Heart Failure patients
  • Work within a collaborative care team supporting cardiac and telemetry patients
  • Orientation sessions held every Monday
  • Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility in the health system to qualify for full travel eligibility
  • Night shift travelers in this specialty must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus for eligibility
  • Candidates within 50-99.9 miles of the facility may be eligible under reduced terms
  • First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the 3-year specialty experience requirement
