Epic Builder Remote information

What is an Epic Builder remote?

Epic Builders are professionals who specialize in configuring and customizing the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system for healthcare organizations. Working remotely, they design workflows, build templates, and ensure that the system meets clinical and administrative needs. Their responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, troubleshooting issues, and performing system testing to optimize the EHR for users. Remote Epic Builders use secure access to connect to hospital systems and participate in virtual meetings to deliver their work efficiently.

How does an Epic Builder remote collaborate with clinical and IT teams during system configuration projects?

As an Epic Builder working remotely, you will frequently collaborate with both clinical staff and IT professionals to ensure system build aligns with workflow needs. Communication often takes place through virtual meetings, project management tools, and email. You'll gather requirements, demonstrate build progress, and address feedback from end users and analysts. Effective collaboration is essential for troubleshooting issues, testing new configurations, and ensuring successful implementation of Epic modules. Building strong relationships and staying organized are key to navigating the remote work environment and supporting project goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Epic Builder remote, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Epic Builder (Remote), you need a solid understanding of healthcare workflows, Epic application configuration, and typically an Epic certification in relevant modules. Familiarity with Epic Systems software, ticketing systems, and change management tools is essential. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills set top performers apart in this role. These abilities ensure accurate system builds, effective collaboration with clinical stakeholders, and successful implementation of healthcare IT solutions.
