Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiac Cath Lab 
Job Type: Full-time| 4 10hr shifts, on call, weekends and holidays

Up to $20,000 bonus for eligible candidates

Our Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment providing advanced cardiovascular care. The team performs a wide range of procedures, including cardiac catheterizations with stents, Shockwave, CSI, rotational atherectomy (Rota), laser interventions, Impella and balloon pump support, as well as TEE, ablations, and cardioversions. We also offer select same-day discharge procedures, where patients recover for approximately four hours and may be discharged once criteria are met. As a chest pain accredited facility, Conemaugh Hospital maintains 24/7 STEMI coverage, ensuring rapid, life-saving care at all times. We prefer candidates with 2+ years of experience in ER, ICU, PCU, or telemetry settings. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team in a dynamic, procedure-driven environment dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiac care.

Scheduling & Work Structure:

  • Cardiac Cath Lab staff work four 10-hour shifts, with required on-call coverage (typically 2-3 days per week and every third weekend, based on staffing needs). On-call is required for weekends and holidays.
  • EP Lab staff work five 8-hour shifts with no on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements.
  • Schedules are posted one month in advance to support work-life balance

How you'll contribute 

Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Coordinates the Patient Care Team's delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patients' spiritual and cultural differences

  • Considers factors related to safety and effectiveness of and cost in planning and delivering patient care

  • Initiates individualized patient and family teaching.

  • Administers medication including initiation and maintenance of IV therapy

  • Implements physician orders and records verbal orders.

  • Makes decisions and judgements in preventing, analyzing, and resolving patient care concerns.

  • Reports patient status, refers problems when necessary and anticipates situations that prevent/minimize adverse outcomes

  • Maintains competency in Pain Assessment and management of pain.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee-related information.

  • Exhibits flexibility in scheduling given the urgent case nature as well as participates in the on call coverage of the STEMI Team. 

  • Attends and participates as a minimum requirement of 6 Staff meetings annually. Reads and signs off all staff meeting minutes of meetings not attended.

  • Participates in Performance Improvement based activities and hospital based as directed

  • Commits to Service Excellence and continually strives toward achievement of the Standards of Care.

  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to various age specific patient populations.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire

  • Critical Care Course or completed within 6 months

  • CPR certification and ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months

  • One year nursing experience

  • Arrhythmia course and critical care course or obtained within one year

  • One year nursing experience in cath lab preferred

  • RCIS Certification preferred
