What is an Eos programmer?

EOS Programmers are software developers who specialize in building applications, smart contracts, and tools on the EOSIO blockchain platform. They use programming languages like C++ and work with EOSIO-specific libraries and frameworks to create decentralized applications (dApps). Their work includes designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining secure and efficient blockchain solutions, often focusing on scalability and performance. EOS Programmers are essential for organizations that want to leverage EOSIO's blockchain technology for various use cases, including finance, gaming, and supply chain management.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an Eos programmer?

To thrive as an Eos Programmer, you need strong proficiency in C++ programming, blockchain concepts, and a solid understanding of smart contract development, often backed by a degree in computer science or related certifications. Familiarity with the EOSIO platform, smart contract frameworks, and tools like EOS Studio or Cleos is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork are essential soft skills that set top programmers apart. These competencies ensure secure, efficient, and scalable decentralized applications, which are crucial for success in blockchain development.

What are common challenges faced by Eos programmers when developing decentralized applications (dApps) on the EOS blockchain?

EOS Programmers often encounter challenges related to resource management, such as CPU, NET, and RAM limitations, which can impact dApp performance and scalability. Navigating the unique EOS smart contract architecture—written primarily in C++—requires a strong understanding of both blockchain concepts and efficient coding practices. Additionally, staying up to date with protocol updates and collaborating closely with frontend developers and blockchain architects is crucial for smooth integration and security. Effective communication within cross-functional teams and proactive problem-solving are key to overcoming these hurdles and delivering robust dApps.

What is the difference between Eos Programmer vs Eos Developer?

AspectEos ProgrammerEos Developer
CredentialsKnowledge of EOSIO blockchain, C++ skills, blockchain certificationsSimilar credentials, often with additional software development certifications
Work EnvironmentBlockchain companies, fintech, decentralized appsBlockchain firms, tech startups, decentralized platform projects
Industry UsageCommonly used in blockchain and cryptocurrency sectorsUsed interchangeably but may imply broader development responsibilities

Both roles involve working with EOSIO blockchain technology, requiring C++ skills and blockchain knowledge. An Eos Programmer typically focuses on coding and implementing blockchain features, while an Eos Developer may have a broader role including designing, testing, and deploying blockchain applications. The terms are often used interchangeably, but 'Developer' can imply a wider scope of responsibilities.

Job description

About Eos Energy Enterprises
Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. is accelerating the shift to American energy independence with positively ingenious solutions that transform how the world stores power. Our breakthrough Znyth™ aqueous zinc battery was designed to overcome the limitations of conventional lithium-ion technology. It is safe, scalable, efficient, sustainable, manufactured in the U.S., and the core of our innovative systems that today provides utility, industrial, and commercial customers with a proven, reliable energy storage alternative for 3 to 12-hour applications. Eos was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Edison, New Jersey. For more information about Eos (NASDAQ: EOSE), visit eose.com.
Job Summary:
The Sr. Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supporting overall system reliability by developing the electronic-based failure bathtub curve, modeling long-term reliability, and defining accelerated test plans for battery management systems (BMS). The engineer will work closely with hardware, systems, and software teams to analyze failure modes, validate reliability assumptions, and drive corrective actions.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead reliability objectives for battery storage hardware, including PCBAs and electromechanical assemblies
  • Develop long-term reliability test plans for all BMS circuit boards, including thermal cycling, damp heat, and other environmental stresses aligned with warranty requirements.
  • Estimate annual failure DPPM (AFR%) using SR-332 standards and reliability modeling tools.
  • Assess expected field use conditions including power-on hours (POH), temperature exposure, and duty cycle
  • Identify components with potential wear-out mechanisms and develop degradation or failure-rate models as needed.
  • Determine acceleration factors and test durations based on agreed upon field use assumptions.
  • Detect wear out failure modes during testing, coordinate root cause investigations, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Create HALT (Accelerated Life Test) plans to uncover early-life and latent failure mechanisms and assess relevance to field conditions.
  • Develop HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening) plans to evaluate ongoing production product quality.
  • Participate in recurring reliability reviews with engineering teams to track progress, risks, and timelines.
  • Provide guidance on system level and software related reliability considerations, including interactions between hardware, firmware, and operational conditions.
  • Support broader reliability initiatives within the battery storage platform as needed.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
  • 8 years of experience in systems engineering, reliability engineering, or related

Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with electronic component reliability, SR 332 modeling, and AFR/DPPM estimation.
  • Proficiency with reliability modeling tools such as Relyence, RelCalc, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of environmental stress testing (thermal cycling, humidity, HALT, etc.).
  • Familiarity with degradation mechanisms in electronic components and PCB assemblies.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and developing corrective actions for wear out failures.
