Job description

Kett Engineering is supporting a major automotive manufacturer's testing operations by hiring a Test Driver in Chattanooga, TN. This is a great opportunity for a test driver looking to gain more experience with a top notch testing program.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Assign all Test Drivers daily assignments in alignment with qualifications and test requirements
  • Mentor and train all Test Drivers on Durability Testing and reporting procedures
  • Perform all vehicle readouts per VRS(vehicle readout system) and upload to VDS or distribute to Durability Engineer
  • Perform AdBlue and Oil additions as needed after workshop staffed hours
  • Exchange Data logger cards/SSDs before all driving shifts
  • Install Data Logger Configurations
  • Transfer all Data logger cards/SSDs to MDP
  • Review Test Driver comments and distribute EOS (end of shift) mails to all Durability
  • Maintain and update all Driver Group tracking reports
  • Test Drive vehicles and perform specialized testing as needed

Experience & Education:

  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a vehicle testing environment
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
    • Associates/Bachelors Degree a plus
  • Grundkurs, Piste, BEUS, Corrosion certifications preferred


Work Flexibility:

  • Occasional domestic travel required for business and training, including travel to remote sites and to client's international locations.
  • Work schedule based on business requirements (minimum 40 hours/week) including occasional weekends.
  • Flexibility in schedule required due to unexpected changes and to meet deadlines.
  • Often driving a motor vehicle, to include special testing, training and mentoring Test Drivers.
