Position Summary

The Integration & Test Engineering Manager leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for the integration, verification, validation, qualification, and production acceptance testing of advanced space electronic systems. This position provides both technical leadership and people management while partnering closely with Electrical, Mechanical, FPGA, Embedded Software, Systems, Manufacturing, and Program Management teams to ensure products are successfully delivered from development through production. The manager is responsible for building a high-performing engineering organization, developing scalable test capabilities, driving continuous process improvements, and ensuring successful execution of engineering and customer milestones.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Integration & Test Engineers and Test Technicians.
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign engineering activities across multiple programs and product lines.
  • Manage staffing, hiring, performance management, career development, and employee growth.
  • Oversee system integration, functional verification, qualification, environmental testing, and production acceptance testing activities.
  • Develop and execute integration and test strategies that support engineering development and production objectives.
  • Drive resolution of complex hardware, software, FPGA, and system-level integration issues.
  • Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, FPGA, Embedded Software, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure test procedures, documentation, reports, and engineering artifacts meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of automated test systems, laboratory infrastructure, and production test equipment.
  • Manage engineering schedules, priorities, budgets, and resource allocation to support program execution.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing test throughput, reducing cycle time, improving quality, and expanding automation.
  • Support design reviews, technical reviews, risk assessments, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate environmental testing activities including thermal cycling, thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, shock, burn-in, and qualification testing.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment, test assets, and engineering facilities are maintained and available to support program needs.
  • Interface directly with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers during technical meetings, program reviews, and test events.
  • Support proposal efforts, basis of estimates (BOEs), new business activities, and technical planning.
  • Support occasional travel and off-site testing activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 9+ years of experience in integration, test, systems engineering, hardware development, or related engineering disciplines.
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
  • Experience integrating and testing complex embedded electronic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, embedded software, FPGA, and system-level issues.
  • Experience developing and executing engineering verification and qualification test plans.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, digital multimeters, and communication analyzers.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in a collaborative development environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering development processes, requirements verification, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience supporting space, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability electronic systems.
  • Experience with environmental qualification testing including TVAC, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, and burn-in.
  • Experience with automated test development using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Experience with production acceptance testing and manufacturing support.
  • Experience with configuration management, requirements management, Jira, Git, or similar engineering tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering organizations.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $101,000 - $188,000

Please Note: Actual compensation offered will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, business considerations, and geographic location where applicable.
