The Opportunity:
Under minimal supervision, perform duties to set up and conduct testing on electro-optical systems while being subjected to environmental stresses such as vacuum, temperature, and vibration.
This position supports a rotating 4-on, 4-off schedule from 6:00AM - 6:30PM.
Responsibilities:
  • This position will require an understanding of complex assemblies and processes dealing with environmental testing.
  • Set up and perform varied electro-optical tests while subjecting products to environmental stresses.
  • Maintain and complete detailed test procedures and data analysis.
  • Set up, perform, and support other environmental lab tests.
  • Perform test equipment preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain environmental chambers and related support equipment.
  • Install and instrument the hardware to be tested. Maintain all test logs, update status board and
    interface with test and quality engineers.
  • Work also includes maintaining the area (5S).

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience in an Environmental Test Lab
  • Skilled in the operation of test lab equipment and the performance of testing
  • Intermediate computer skills with ability to utilize standard business software (i.e. MS Office and Outlook)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Desired:
  • Associates/Technical Degree (two years) - Preferred
  • Experienced in the operation of test lab equipment (I.E. thermal-vacuum chambers)
  • Hands-on experience in the operation and set up of computerized thermal control and data acquisition systems
  • Experienced in the set up and performance of electrical, mechanical and optical functional testing following defined test procedures or as directed by engineering
  • Hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of computerized vibration control and data acquisition systems including vibration exciters and amplifiers
