Job Description
The Laboratory Technician assists in daily laboratory functions such as but not limited to cleaning, preparation/extraction, and stocking laboratory supplies (as assigned) using standard techniques according to approved scientific methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position can be physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with chemicals, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follows SOPs, written, and verbal instructions
  • Performs routine laboratory cleaning
  • Performs disposal of chemical waste using approved methods
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • Accurately enters data into LIMS
  • Washes and inventories, glassware and specialized equipment, may be asked to prepare equipment for shipping
  • Responsible for keeping personal training documentation (training records, IDOC/DOC) current and accurate
  • Responsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
  • Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment health and safety and quality assurance standards
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Assists in other areas of laboratory when needed
  • May perform laboratory assistant responsibilities
  • May prepare reagents and spikes as needed
  • May perform extractions as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer skills
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Previous experience in a lab
  • A good working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Able to interpret written materials and communicate findings effectively.
  • Effective collaborator who contributes to team goals and supports department productivity goals
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality work within established timelines and specifications.
  • Able to work independently, following written or verbal instructions with minimal oversight.
  • Good interpersonal skills: able to coordinate tasks and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Additional Information
Pay rate: $17.75/hour
