Job Description
Masimo is seeking a Sustainability and Compliance Specialist for our location in Irvine, CA. This on-site role involves leading sustainability initiatives to improve energy management and waste reduction while supporting climate goals across Masimo's global footprint. This role drives measurable improvement in energy management and waste minimization to standardize, mature, and sustain results. This position will be responsible for the coordination, and implementation of Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) programs and the Environment Management Systems (EMS) for Masimo Corporation.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • This role supports achieving our climate ambition of collecting and reducing absolute emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data across global operations (e.g., energy efficiency, electrification, waste reduction, renewable energy credits)
    • Calculate corporate carbon footprints using GHG Protocol standards.
    • Maintain the internal sustainability data management platform.
    • Build automated dashboards to track carbon reduction metrics.
    • Validate data accuracy for annual ESG public reporting.
    • Embedding climate action directly into strategic business planning.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a corporate-wide ISO 14001 compliant Environmental Management System
    • Manage the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
    • Coordinate internal and external environmental audits.
    • Track regulatory changes in climate disclosure laws.
    • Maintain documentation for environmental permits and compliance.
    • Map operational data to GRI, BRSR, and CSRD frameworks.
  • Own the global program roadmap to sustain and mature site energy, waste, and decarbonization initiatives across all our manufacturing sites to ensure consistent reporting, alignment with KPIs, and cadence.
    • Forecast emission trajectories for net-zero scenarios.
    • Analyze data to identify energy efficiency opportunities.
    • Provide carbon ROI metrics for capital expenditure projects.
    • Standardize sustainability questionnaires for supply chain partners.
    • Assessing the full lifecycle of products and services from raw material extraction to disposal.
  • Update and maintain existing Environmental, Health and Safety plans and procedures including EMS, IIPP, Emergency Action Plan, COVID-19 Prevention Plan, PPE, Exposure Control Plan, Chemical/SDS Inventory.
  • Apply tools and processes (e.g., problem solving, daily management, standard work, kaizen, visual management, waste minimization, energy management) to drive adoption, measurable outcomes and sustainment.
  • Interpret State, Federal, and Local EHS standards requirements, communicate impact to Masimo management, and conduct training as appropriate
  • Support other Masimo locations with their environmental and regulatory requirements

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum two years of environmental, health & safety (EHS) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • EHS regulation knowledge and experience
  • Exposure to an ISO 14001 Environment Management System and certification program
  • Demonstrated experience leading sustainability, energy, environmental, or operational excellence programs
  • Demonstrated track record delivering energy efficiency and/or waste minimization projects with measurable results
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to gather data from disparate teams.
  • Sharp analytical mindset with high attention to data integrity.
  • Clear communication style to translate complex data into executive insights.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership: able to connect with people at all levels, influence cross-functionally, and communicate effectively with executives across cultures/geographies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SCAQMD Rules and Regulations
  • Hazardous Chemical Substances Background
  • Deep knowledge of the GHG Protocol and science-based targets (SBTi).
  • Experience with ESG software platforms (e.g., Watershed, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CEM, LEED, ISSP, ISO 14001/50001, and GHG-related credentials).
  • Successfully implemented and managed ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems, in an FDA-regulated industry or similar highly regulated manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
  • Working knowledge of greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3, including experience compiling and improving emissions inventories using sustainability data platforms (e.g., Benchmark Gensuite, Sphera) and supporting supplier/customer sustainability assessments (e.g., Ecovadis), and KPI tracking.

Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.
