Internship Description

This is a paid internship with Furlani Foods, LLC (an industrial bakery). Clean, conditioned space, open 24-hours a day 6-7 days a week. The candidate would be provided a flexible schedule, access to computer, and have a personal space to work. This position is a great opportunity for a second year EHS student for summer work or a documented internship. This position will work 25% in the plant and 75% in the office.

Safety Intern Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will be working with a team to evaluate and develop procedures for Standard Work and assist the safety trainer and Process Engineering Team in communication of any changes.

The intern will assist with job task time studies to document in the standard work. 

Candidate will attend weekly team meetings to provide progress updates as well as communicate needs and opportunities. 

This position may be part of a safety committee attending GEMBA audits, incident investigations, job safety analysis, ergonomic evaluations, and demonstrating Bakery safety specific to food safety and bakery equipment. 

This candidate will assist with implementation of Standard Work. The intern will have the opportunity to tabulate data in excel spread sheets to create a concise report on his or her productivity. 

All other duties as assigned demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving business needs.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, PowerPoint) as well as Adobe Acrobat.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
