Job description

Launch your environmental career with hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom. As a Field Environmental Scientist Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals on real-world environmental and industrial hygiene projects throughout the Washington, DC area. From collecting field samples and assisting with investigations to contributing to technical reports, you'll gain valuable exposure to a variety of environmental services while building the skills needed for a successful career in consulting.

This internship requires availability to work Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET at a client site in Washington, DC, making it an excellent opportunity for students with schedules that accommodate early morning, part-time field work.

Your Responsibilities as Field Environmental Scientist:

  • Work in the field supporting environmental and Industrial Hygiene projects
  • Could be involved with stormwater sampling primarily, but could also be involved with mold sampling, wastewater sampling as well as other project work
  • Write technical reports.
  • Take direction from supervisor to perform various field duties.
  • Actively develop your own career growth.

Schedule:

  • Mondays & Wednesday: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm ET
  • This will be on site at a client location in Washington DC 

What we're looking for:

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry or a related field of study.
  • Basic environmental science knowledge.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Awareness of safety standards and practices.
  • Good record keeping.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
