Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is expanding and looking for an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team in Laurel, Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career environmental professional who's eager to build skills, take on new challenges, and grow alongside a well-established and respected firm.
In this role, you'll be part of GTA's Environmental Department, supporting a diverse client base and contributing to meaningful projects including environmental due diligence, regulatory consulting, site remediation, and redevelopment initiatives. You'll gain hands-on experience while working closely with experienced professionals who are invested in your development.
Environmental Scientist Responsibilities
  • Prepare clear, effective reports and project deliverables, including figures, tables, summaries, and exploration logs
  • Complete accurate Daily Field Reports, Chain of Custody forms, field logs, sketches, and other documentation
  • Support field investigations and data analysis in compliance with regulatory requirements

This role offers the opportunity to expand your expertise into areas such as:
    • Advanced Phase II ESAs
    • Regulatory agency interaction
    • Brownfields redevelopment
    • Vapor intrusion assessments
    • Site remediation
    • Asbestos and lead-based paint surveys
    • Project management

Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering
    • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
    • Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) required
    • Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) required
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • A self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality work
