Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking a talented scientist/technician to join our research team in our Bellevue Research and Testing Laboratory.

This position involves supporting cutting-edge treatability and laboratory research projects for a variety of clients across CDM Smith’s environment, water, PFAS, and energy markets from both an administrative and technical standpoint. The ideal candidate should be team-oriented, capable of working independently with proper guidance, have a high attention to detail, and should be comfortable learning new skills and ultimately, independently assisting/executing experiments based on documented work plans and guidance from the project technical lead.


Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of standard field protocols for their respective discipline. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Good written and verbal communications skills. Basic knowledge of scientific methods and processes. Basic knowledge of regulations (federal, state, and local) governing environmental review and project implementation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Understanding of physical, chemical, and biological hazards and considerations at the laboratory scale.
  • Experience adhering to budget, scope, and schedule constraints.
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Experience in logistics coordination and management.
  • Independent data analysis and interpretation experience is a plus.

Additional Pay Range Information
CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
