Job description

Job Title: Athletic Trainer

Location: Mauston, WI (Mile Bluff Medical Center)
Salary: $50,000 – $70,000 annually
Bonus: Up to $7,500 Sign-On Bonus


Schedule Options
  • Full-Time: 80 hours per pay period (Monday–Friday + evening event coverage)
  • PRN: As needed
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Occasional (event-based)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive medical care focused on injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and emergency response for athletes and active individuals across various settings.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site coverage for athletic events and school activities
  • Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries
  • Conduct physical assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Communicate care plans with athletes, parents, and coaches
  • Manage concussion protocols, including return-to-play decisions
  • Document all evaluations, treatments, and progress notes
  • Identify injury trends and implement prevention strategies
  • Perform occupational health services (functional testing, conditioning programs)
  • Assist in orthopedic clinic duties (patient education, histories, scheduling)
  • Coordinate schedules for event coverage

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
  • Minimum 1+ year of relevant experience
  • Active Wisconsin Athletic Trainer License
  • Certification from the Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • BLS Certification required
