Job description

Duties Description NYSDOT is now hiring summer interns. NYSDOT is a leading-edge team of motivated, empowered, and respected professionals whose customers value our high-quality engineering and technical services and products. Each NYSDOT employee plays an important part in fulfilling the Department's mission and goals, as we are one DOT working cohesively to ensure the state has a safe, efficient, balanced and environmentally sound transportation system.

The duties will vary from position to position, depending on the assignment. Interns will perform duties such as GIS, engineering, research, policy and planning, surveying, administration, environmental science, landscape architecture, etc. Student Assistants will report to professional level staff performing various duties to achieve the mission of the agency.

Positions are located statewide. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications Must have completed at least 12 credit hours of college study and be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program.
