Nursing Supervisor (Full-Time, Night Shift)Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Nursing Supervisor. In this leadership role, you will provide operational and clinical oversight of hospital nursing services during assigned shifts, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while supporting nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.

The Nursing Supervisor serves as a key resource for clinical decision-making, staffing coordination, patient flow management, and problem resolution across the hospital. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while helping foster a collaborative and supportive care environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of nursing operations during assigned shifts.

  • Promote the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the hospital.

  • Serve as a clinical and administrative resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Coordinate staffing assignments and assist with workforce planning to ensure appropriate patient coverage.

  • Support patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and discharges.

  • Respond to clinical, operational, and staffing concerns and facilitate timely resolution.

  • Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and ancillary services to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and patient safety initiatives.

  • Assist with emergency response situations and provide leadership during critical events.

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent acute care nursing experience required.

  • Previous Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or leadership experience preferred.

  • Experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated clinical decision-making and leadership abilities preferred.

Licensure & Certifications
  • Current and unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.

  • Knowledge of hospital operations, staffing practices, patient safety principles, and regulatory standards.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology platforms.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
