Job description

Position Overview

You will receive on the job training for this entry-level position. You will work alongside an experienced CMT lab technician to learn how to perform a variety of test procedures used to evaluate the quality of construction materials including soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, stone and masonry

Qualifications

  • Need to work well as a team member
  • Need to be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities when needed
  • Flexibility and willingness to modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines
  • Basic math and computer skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience

• Candidate must currently be enrolled in a degreed program in Geology, Environmental Science, or closely related field.

Physical Requirements

Physical Ability

• Stand, walk, push, pull, twist, reach overhead, bending, crawling, climbing; lift minimum of 80 pounds

Visual Ability

• Visual accommodation necessary for reading instructions/materials necessary to perform functions of job

Hearing Ability

• Ability to monitor sounds for changes in machine function

Work Conditions

• Work exposes the employee to laboratory testing devices, dust, soil and other external environment factors

Shift Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Some overtime may periodically be required
