Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a GIS Senior Analyst candidate to provide task management, analytical, and consulting support for US State Departments of Transportation. Projects focus on data management and maintenance, and design and implementation of Relational Database Management Systems (Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres) and enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri based software to support Esri Roads and Highways, ArcGIS Enterprise, Business Systems Integration, mobile solutions, web applications, and visualization tools and cloud platforms. 

This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

  • Creation of scripts to integrate, transform, convert, and validate enterprise data stores.
  • Creation of web services to interrogate and distribute enterprise data.
  • Development of databases and schemas in Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Architect workflows and processes to integrate, transform, convert, and validate enterprise data stores.
  • Analyzing and creating datasets to support enterprise reporting and distribution needs.
  • Integrating datasets for use in producing enterprise reporting and distribution needs.
  • Identifying and designing data business processes and use cases.
  • Validation, troubleshooting, and error resolution of applications, data transformations, and processes.
  • Working with GIS datasets using Esri technologies.
  • Integrating external datasets into Roads and Highways for use in producing Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports.
  • Managing GIS data through editing and quality assurance best practices.
  • Developing business processes to leverage LRS functionality.
  • Developing and designing visualization and analytical tools in the Esri GIS environments.
  • Parsing REST service calls to interrogate enterprise database systems.
  • Developing Data Reviewer checks for the validation of data conversion/creation processes.

Work location is flexible. A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the area of GIS, Geography, Computer Science, IT, Environmental Science, or similar or relevant experience/qualifying certification.
  • 4 years' post-graduate experience in technology/visualization software, or relevant experience/qualifying certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified GIS Professional (GISP)
  • Special considerations, specific technical experience, skills, etc. include:
    - Esri ArcGIS products (ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey123, etc.).
    - Esri Roads & Highways applications and enterprise database management.
    - Linear referencing concepts.
    - Extensive familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts.
    - Demonstrating progressive and analytical problem-solving skills.
    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex reports and presentations.
