A Day in the Life

Become a key player in our National Brownfield Program and help revitalize contaminated sites across New York, Vermont, Alaska, and beyond! You'll collaborate with owners, regulatory agencies, developers, and a talented team of architects, engineers, and construction managers. Your work will transform former armories, firing ranges, and industrial sites into essential new spaces such as transitional housing, police stations, hospitals, and commercial facilities. If you're ready to make a significant impact in communities while advancing your career, we have a place for you.

The annual compensation range for this role is $120,000 to $175,000, in addition to an annual bonus,commensuratewith experience, skills, and geographic location.

To thrive in this role,you'llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Complete scientific and engineering analysis under the guidance of a Senior Principal Engineer

  • Assist with the development of Remedial Investigation Work Plans; Conceptual Remediation Plans, Corrective and Remedial Action Work Plans; Contract Documents including Specifications and Drawings; Remedial Construction Observation and Generation of Final Reports

  • Prepare project outlines and layouts, graphical presentations, permit applications, and write technical reports

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team focused on being the trusted advisor to our clients

  • Manage project budgets, hours and timelines, and interface with clients to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met

  • Conduct field inspections, reconnaissance, and field work such as oversight of contractors, building demolition and remediation, contaminated soil and/or groundwater remediation (excavation, in situ treatment, capping, etc.), and collection of soil, groundwater and various substrates for laboratory analyses

  • Support business development efforts including scope development, fee estimation, and proposal generation

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay current on industry trends

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required

Your Expertise and Skills

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university program

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY

  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory standards, environmental compliance and environmental engineering principles

  • Excellent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and demonstrated project management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in field sampling, inspections, data collection, QA/QC of data results, data reporting, synthesis, and analysis

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment and build effective working relationships

  • Ability to travel (<10%)

  • Complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification
