What You'll Do:

As a Project Scientist with guidance and support from senior scientists, you'll gain experience in the planning, designing and implementation of diverse projects. Exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

ยท Ensure safety is always prioritized

ยท Perform assignments requiring the application of standard criteria, procedures, and techniques

ยท Support senior environmental personnel with performing site inspections, field sampling, data analysis, research, and preparing reports/mapping

ยท Complete and submit field reports in a legible and timely manner

ยท Apply standard techniques and procedures for collecting environmental samples (soil, water, groundwater) to complete routine environmental assignments

ยท Utilize publicly available data, maps, satellite imagery, GIS data and other sources to perform site analysis

ยท Prepare reports and correspondence related to assigned projects

ยท Strive to make each project profitable by completing each task efficiently and timely

ยท Communicate effectively with clients regarding projects

ยท Participating in business development and customer service

Desired Qualifications:

ยท Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, or other appropriate scientific discipline

ยท 3-5 years of industry experience

ยท Meets the definition of an Environmental Professional (EP) under All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) rule 40 CFR ยง 312.10

ยท Experience performing Phase I or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments

ยท Experience with the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund

ยท Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills

ยท Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record

ยท Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
