Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor - Real Estate (U.S.)

The EHS Advisor supports Siemens Healthineers Real Estate (SHS RE) in ensuring full compliance with applicable Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) laws, regulations, and internal directives across construction, design, facility management, and facility services operations. This role partners with project teams, contractors, and site leadership to implement EHS programs, mitigate risk, and maintain compliance with U.S. regulatory agencies including OSHA, EPA, and applicable state/local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Support, advise, and ensure SHS Real Estate operations comply with U.S. federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including:
    • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards
    • EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations
    • State-level environmental and safety agencies
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements, internal standards, and contractual obligations to Real Estate construction and facility teams
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving U.S. regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with SHS directives

Project & Program Support

  • Assist Real Estate and site teams in planning and implementing EHS requirements across all project-related activities
  • Review project-specific EHS plans to ensure compliance with SHS RE standards, OSHA requirements (e.g., construction safety), and project scope
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs across all Real Estate locations

Contractor Management & Site Oversight

  • Monitor coordination between project teams and contractors on-site, identifying potential hazards arising from contractor interactions and multi-employer worksites (aligned with OSHA guidelines)
  • Evaluate contractor performance through regular site inspections and audits
  • Document findings and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented in collaboration with project teams

Risk, Incident & Environmental Management

  • Identify hazards and recommend appropriate protective and preventive measures (e.g., fall protection, confined spaces, hazardous materials handling)
  • Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and ensure reporting aligns with OSHA recordkeeping requirements where applicable
  • Collaborate with Project and Facility Managers to implement incident prevention and mitigation strategies

Environmental Compliance

  • Support compliance with environmental regulations including:
    • Waste management and hazardous materials handling (EPA compliance)
    • Spill prevention and environmental impact mitigation
  • Ensure environmental considerations are incorporated into construction and facility management activities

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support preparation of internal and external EHS reports, including those required by regulatory authorities
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities across sites
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS performance and safety culture

Training & Communication

  • Deliver EHS training to employees, project teams, and management, including OSHA-related safety topics
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, awareness, and engagement initiatives

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred), Environmental Health & Safety, or related field
  • Alternatively, a formally recognized EHS certification (e.g., OSHA certification, CSP, ASP, CHST preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of EHS experience (5+ years preferred) in construction and/or facility management environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors in on-site environments, ideally under OSHA multi-employer worksite frameworks
  • Experience supporting EHS across projects of varying size and complexity

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910 & 1926) and EPA regulations
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Strong contractor management and hazard identification capabilities
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions
  • Knowledge of EHS equipment planning, procurement, and utilization
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Additional Information

  • Role requires travel to construction and facility sites
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and oversight across multiple locations and projects
  • Experience in the built environment (construction, facilities, real estate) strongly preferred

The base pay range for this position is:

$74,350 - $102,234

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
