Gateway West, Albuquerque's largest emergency shelter, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Program Manager to provide leadership over daily shelter operations, staff supervision, and case management services. Serving more than 600 guests each night, Gateway West plays a critical role in helping individuals experiencing homelessness access safety, stability, supportive services, and pathways to permanent housing.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT PROGRAM MANAGER?
  • You bring experienced leadership, overseeing daily shelter operations, staff supervision, and case management services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for experience that exceeds minimum requirements.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in social services or shelter management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role, preferably in social services or shelter environments.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and a commitment to applying them in practice.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and client management software.
  • For positions in programs where contract requires driving on behalf of the company, candidates must hold a valid driver's license, meet the company's motor vehicle record (MVR) standards, meets company's insurance eligibility, and comply with all state and federal driving requirements. Ongoing employment may be contingent upon maintaining an acceptable driving record.
