Bulk Plant Loader
Day Shift 6:30a-6:30p
Your role:
As a Bulk Plant Loader, you will be responsible for ensuring that Ardent Mills products meet customer requirements at the end of the milling process. Ardent Mills insists on hiring talented individuals looking to cross train in multiple areas within the Mill operation. The Bulk Plant Loader reports to the Production Manager and will be expected to carry out all their activities with reliability, integrity, compliance in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.To succeed, you must be able to:

  • Operate with simplicity, clarity and transparency.
  • Deal with and drive change.
  • Organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlines.
  • Learn and apply new technology and share your knowledge with others.

Above all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.
Your responsibilities:
  • Perform as lead person as needed.
  • Must be a self-starter and work as a team player.
  • Must have excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety policies; all GMP, HACCP, Sanitation policies; following all Business Unit policies and procedures.
  • Must be trained in the performance of Preventative Maintenance.
  • Understand written customer specifications and blend flour to meet customer specifications.
  • Analyze flour with lab instruments. Safely operate lab analytical instruments.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Enter data into plant control system for record keeping. Create COA as needed.
  • Must have good communication skills for interaction with CSR's, truck drivers and railroad switch crew and all other employees.
  • Be available for overtime as required for daily and weekend operations of the plant.
  • Assist in operations on an as needed basis as directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Actively participate in department meetings and facility teams relating to the improvement of plant safety, quality, innovation and efficiency.
  • Perform any tasks reasonably assigned.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Follow verbal and written instructions (English).
  • Communicate with peers and supervisors (English).
  • Basic computer skills and have the ability to learn new software for production.

Good to have:
  • One year operating mobile equipment including forklift, bobcat, or Track Mobile; will train, as needed.

Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
  • Ascend and descend stairs throughout the facility.
  • Climb ladders (both step and extension).
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Able to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection.

Other considerations:
  • Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team.
  • Must be willing to get cross-trained in at least one other position for development within the facility and to provide any relief duties as needed.
  • Must be willing to work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays and opposing shifts as needed.

Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
