Its practice also includes professional liability, general liability, premises liability, and Michigan No-Fault law. Role Description The Legal Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position located in East Lansing, MI. This role supports attorneys by preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and correspondence. Daily responsibilities include managing calendars, scheduling hearings and meetings, maintaining case files (both physical and electronic), and assisting with court filings and e-filing systems. The Legal Assistant communicates with clients, courts, and other parties, tracks deadlines, and helps coordinate case logistics to ensure efficient workflow within the insurance defense practice. The role also involves general administrative support such as drafting basic communications, handling incoming calls, and collaborating with other team members to support firm operations.
