Job description

Precon Corporation is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Gainesville, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent or upcoming Civil Engineering graduate looking to build a long-term career in the design and construction of prestressed concrete tanks for the water and wastewater industry.

As a Civil Engineer at Precon, you will receive hands-on training and mentorship while developing the skills needed to manage design and construction projects successfully. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain practical experience in project management, coordination, design, and construction while building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams.

This position offers more than a traditional engineering role. In addition to managing projects, you will have the opportunity to become a member of the management team, helping shape the future direction and continued growth of the company.

This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Gainesville, Florida office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the planning, design, and management of prestressed concrete tank construction projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review project drawings and related documentation.
  • Use AutoCAD for 2D drafting and project support.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress.
  • Develop the leadership and management skills needed for long-term career growth within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification, or the ability to obtain EI certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D drafting.
  • Experience: 0-2 years.
