GREAT Work Environment, Paid Time Off, and a 20% Staff Discount!We are hiring 2 part-time positions. These positions will work Mon/Wed/Fri and either Sat or Sun from 1pm - 7pm. The  These positions pay $15.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

Customer Service at People's Food Co-op is our primary focus! As part of our Grocery Department team, you will assist with assistance in inventory control and record keeping, stocking shelves , and assisting customer with product questions. You'll assist with maintenance, receiving, preparation, stocking and display of all products in the department.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with department manager about daily activities, needs and challenges
  • Report performance issues to department manager in a way that is immediate, respectful and consistent
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff to create a positive work environment
  • Ensure department staff promptly and courteously answer phones and handle requests in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards
  • Ensure department cases and prep areas are clean
  • Receive product deliveries; ensuring order and invoice are accurate and ensure product quality
  • Prepare case and other meat department items as needed
  • Maintain back stock areas according to department standards
  • Demonstrate full awareness of current promotional events for the department
  • Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner.
  • Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner throughout the store and assist them by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items and helping them to retrieve out of reach items.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending and reaching for duration of assigned shift. Also cutting, using a knife or box cutter.
