Braun Intertec is seeking a highly motivated Traveling Staff Engineer or Geologist to join our team. This role involves frequent travel to support renewable energy, infrastructure, and mission critical projects.

Renewable energy and infrastructure projects are largescale developments that generate electricity and move it across long distances. These are utilityscale projects that require engineering, construction, and gridintegration work to expand and strengthen the energy system.

Mission critical projects are landintensive developments that create unique geotechnical challenges, such as major grade changes, heavily loaded structures, complex belowgrade utility and duct bank networks, and fastpaced construction schedules. Their speed and complexity demand close oversight to quickly identify and resolve issues, reduce risk for all stakeholders, and provide the technical expertise needed to exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform oversight of other field personnel on remote job sites.
  • Perform various field testing and observations at remote job sites.
  • Assist field operations on remote projects with technician training and review.
  • Closely coordinate field observations with engineering project lead.
  • Review field logs and soil samples for classification and boring log preparation.
  • Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope with Senior review.
  • Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
  • Coordinate with regional operations to effectively coordinate staff, resources, and workloads.
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Support client relationships to effectively achieve power, renewables, and mission critical market-sector goals and strategies.
  • Must be action oriented, able to effectively/efficiently manage time, and able to learn quickly.

Essential Field Duties:

  • Conduct geological field investigations, including mapping, sampling, and logging.

  • Analyze rock, soil, groundwater, and geophysical data.

  • Prepare technical reports, maps, and cross-sections.

  • Support renewables and mission critical projects.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform various field activities on geotechnical projects including, but not limited to, pile load testing, field electrical resistivity testing, and soil logging.

  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of pile load testing (PLT) procedure.

  • Communicate with members of the team on project progress and issues that arise.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and customer service skills.
  • Ability to exceed client expectations while thriving in a time critical / dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and communicate project budgets

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) ingeotechnical, civil, or related engineering field, or Geology required.
  • Two or more years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience with large-scale construction projects preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Expected travel is 60 to 90%.

Compensation Range:

$50,000.00 - $74,000.00
