The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.
Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager will manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to ensure cost, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved. Lead and support Integrated Product Team (IPT) and project meetings from program kickoff through closeout. Serve as the primary interface for internal and external customers, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and issue resolution related to existing contracts. Lead and/or support bid and proposal activities, including planning, development, and execution to support business growth and program success.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day contract execution to ensure cost, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved
  • Lead Integrated Product Team activities and program meetings from kickoff through closeout
  • Serve as primary customer interface and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve program and contractual issues
  • Lead or support bid and proposal efforts and identify new business opportunities in partnership with Business Development
  • Develop and manage program plans, schedules, budgets, and resources; provide regular status updates to senior management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks; implement corrective actions and escalate issues as needed
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Perform cost, schedule, and variance analysis, including earned value management reporting
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, communication, and successful program execution
  • Drive continuous improvement, planning effectiveness, and timely program closeout, including documentation and financial performance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years project or program management experience
  • Knowledge of program management tools, processes, and full program lifecycle execution
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer interface skills
  • Experience with risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and manpower planning
  • Familiarity with earned value management, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Cross-functional knowledge of engineering, finance, contracting, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain
  • Experience managing aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
