Job description

SUMMARY: Assist the Compliance Program with agency wide compliance operations (e.g., internal compliance audits and assessments, regulatory documentation reviews, compliance related education and awareness initiatives, maintain and update compliance documentation and policy libraries).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of CareSouth's Employee Handbook.
  2. Carry out the meaning of the CareSouth's Mission and Vision.
  3. Practice a culture of safety to reduce or prevent risk of injury, claims, loss or liability by utilizing CareSouth's Compliance Plan, the Risk Management and Infection Control Plan.
  4. Perform responsibilities with a high-quality standard to yield improved compliance, quality, and patient outcome measures by adhering to the Quality Improvement Plan.
  5. Be present and ready for work as scheduled.
  6. As required, attend training, meetings and community events.
  7. Comply with CareSouth's policies including, but not limited to, code of conduct, confidentiality and safety policies.
  8. Support development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
  9. Participate in regulatory projects.
  10. Perform all assigned tasks with a high degree of integrity.
  11. Check and respond to emails and voice messages daily.
  12. Communicate rationally and professionally in all situations.
  13. Participate in planning projects and/or developing new methods and procedures.
  14. Capable of working independently and making some independent judgements.
  15. Communicate status of all tasks, assignments, and special projects to Compliance Officer; particularly, if there are concerns, confusion, or timing issues, to ensure all deadlines are met or reevaluated.
  16. Perform other tasks as required by the Compliance Officer.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Currently pursuing a degree in Public Health, Public Health Law, Community Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  2. Willingness and ability to learn complex regulatory requirements quickly.
  3. Strong attention to detail.
  4. Ability to discretely handle sensitive information.
  5. Have reliable transportation and willing to travel between sites as required.
  6. Must be able to work independently after receiving instructions.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to translate complex policies and regulations into clear, actionable guidance.
  9. Working knowledge of healthcare systems is a plus.
