Job description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer to join our industrial environmental services team. The successful candidate will support operations by performing manual tasks related to environmental cleanup, hazardous waste handling, industrial maintenance, and facility decontamination. The role requires physical stamina, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work in demanding industrial environments such as chemical plants, factories, or contaminated sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with environmental cleanup and remediation activities, including soil excavation, waste removal, and site preparation
  • Handle, load, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to safety and environmental regulations
  • Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., pressure washers, vacuum trucks, pneumatic tools)
  • Perform general labour tasks such as lifting, moving materials, shoveling, sweeping, and site setup/teardown
  • Support spill response and containment efforts under the guidance of supervisors
  • Follow strict safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Complete daily safety checks and report hazards or equipment issues immediately
  • Work in confined spaces or at heights, if required (with proper training and certification)
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in industrial, construction, or environmental work is an asset
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather and site conditions
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Willingness to travel to different worksites as needed and stay out of town
  • Valid "G" Class driver's license (preferred)
  • Confined Space, WHMIS, H2S Alive, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily outdoors or in industrial facilities
  • Exposure to dirt, dust, noise, chemicals, and hazardous materials
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
  • Shift work, overtime, and weekend work may be required
